Soya Tikki is a nutritional solution for hunger as we know Soybeans are a rich source of proteins and polyunsaturated fats and have an ample amount of omega-3 fatty acids. It’s also rich in fiber, thus helping in lowering cholesterol levels. Its high magnesium content has proven effective in treating insomnia. The isoflavones present in it help ease other symptoms of menopause and reduce the risk of osteoporosis among women. Additionally, it provides vitamin B, vitamin K, riboflavin, and folate.
Ingredients
- Soya Chunks – 1 Cup
- Besan – ½ Cup
- Chopped Green Chilies – ½ Teaspoon
- Chopped Coriander – 1 Teaspoon
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 Teaspoon
- Red Chilli Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Cumin Powder – ¼ Teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder – ¼ Teaspoon
- Oil – 1 Tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Method
- Soak soya chunks in lukewarm water for about 30 minutes.
- Drain excess water and squeeze dry.
- Blend the soya chunks in a mixer until fine.
- Squeeze out all excess water from the soya chunks mixture.
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except oil and mix well.
- Using your palms, form round tikkis.
- Heat and grease a non-stick pan with oil
- Place the tikkis on the pan and cook the tikkis from both sides on a medium flame until golden brown
- Serve the delicious tikkis with mint chutney
