Crispy Sabudana Vada / Tikki | Gluten Free | Nutritious Recipe

Sabudana Tikki / Vada is a traditional, popular and crispy deep-fried snack made with sabudana, crushed peanuts, boiled potato, green chillies and coriander leaves. Ideally, served with curd dip.

It has high carbs content, minerals, vitamins, iron and fiber. It quickly boosts the energy levels mainly due to the high carbs and starch content. It also has cooling effect on body. A perfect food option for those who have gluten insensitivity and celiac disease.

This recipe also makes it a perfect snack option for those who want to put on weight as it is calorically dense and loaded with carbs.

Ingredients:
  • Sabudana (Soaked) – 1 Cup
  • Potato (Boiled) – 2 Medium Sized
  • Peanut (Crushed) – ¼ Cup
  • Green Chillies (Chopped) – 2-3 Nos
  • Cumin Seeds powder – ½ Tsp
  • Salt (Pink Salt / Rock Salt) – To Taste
  • Sugar (Optional) – ½ Tsp
  • Oil – For Frying
Method:
  1. In a big, mixing bowl – add soaked sabudana, boiled potato and rest of ingredients.
  2. Combine, mix and mash well with your hand. Now prepare small flat tikkis.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai over moderate flame. Place the tikkis in it and deep fry till they turn crispy and brown in colour.
  4. Serve Sabudana Tikki or Vadas with Curd dip or Green Chutney.
