Pav Bhaji is one of the favourite dishes to be consumed across the country. Typically it is made with potatoes as the core ingredient of the recipe along with other veggies and spices. However, as we are trying to make a keto specific pav bhaji, this recipe is without potatoes and low on carbohydrates. Consuming a low carb meal is the principle of a keto diet. In this recipe the main ingredient is cauliflower instead of potatoes. Cauliflower is low in carbs and also great source of Vitamin C & sulphur. It also contains a compound named Sulforaphane that fights cancer by inactivating the carcinogens and protects the cells from damage. Being a good source of fiber it supports the digestive process and fuels the healthy gut bacteria.
Keto pav bhaji is a healthy twist to the most common fast food with easy and tasty preparation. It also allows those on keto to eat tasty food without hesitation.
Ingredients:
- Cauliflower Florets – 1 Cup
- Chopped Green Bell Peppers – ¾ Cup
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 Teaspoon
- Chopped Tomato – ½ Cup
- Chopped Onion – ½ Cup
- Butter – 4 Tablespoon
- Pav Bhaji Masala – 1 Teaspoon
- Kasuri Methi – 1 Teaspoon
- Red Chilli Powder – as per taste
- Salt – as per taste
- Lemon Juice – to squeeze / Amchur Powder
- Coriander – to garnish
Method:
- Boil the cauliflower florets with water till they become tender and keep them aside.
- In a wok or kadai, heat 2 tablespoon of butter. To it add onions and sauté till translucent. Now add the tomatoes, bell peppers, ginger garlic paste and mix properly.
- Once all the ingredients are mixed add boiled cauliflower florets, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, and salt to taste. Give it all a good mix, add 1 cup water and close the lid and cook it for 10 minutes till all the veggies turn soft.
- Mash the veggies into a fine consistency and let them cook. Add kasuri methi and the remaining 2 tablespoon of butter and mix properly
