Poha or rice flakes are a good source of carbohydrates. It is one of the most commonly consumed grains and is gluten-free in nature. As light as it looks, poha is easily digested by the system and can be a good option for those suffering from gut health issues. Dudh Poha makes a wholesome & easy meal for breakfast to be consumed and does not require much of an arrangement. Diabetics can also relish this dish, as long as the intake of extra sugar is taken care of. Replacing sugar with stevia can be beneficial for them.
Ingredients:
- Rice Flakes (Raw) – ¼ Cup
- Milk – 1 Cup
- Sugar / Stevia – 1 Tsp
- Raisins – 3-4 in nos
Method 1 (Cold):
- Wash rice flakes under water for 1- 2 minutes. Drain the water and keep it aside.
- In a bowl add cold milk and sugar / stevia and mix till the sugar dissolves.
- Add soaked poha to the bowl and mix well.
- Serve cold. Top it up with some raisins.
Method 2 (Warm):
- Wash rice flakes under water for 1- 2 minutes. Drain the water and keep it aside.
- In a pan add milk and boil on low flame.
- Add soaked poha to it and stir continuously and avoid burning.
- When you attain the desired consistency, lower the flame and add sugar / stevia, and mix well.
- Add more milk if required
- Garnish with raisins and serve hot or you can refrigerate for a while and serve cold.
