Green Pea Soup | Nutritious soup

This Milk Green Pea Soup is rich in fiber and contains good amount of protein. Green peas, are packed with protein and fiber that controls the blood sugars and help lower the cholesterol level. Peas are good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A and B Complex Vitamins, and antioxidants that helps in strengthening the immune system and reduces inflammation, provides calcium, potassium, Vitamin D and vitamin B12 and adds the creamy texture to the soup making it tastier.

This hearty, filling and nutritious soup can be enjoyed anytime of the day!

Ingredients:
  • Green peas – ¾ Cup
  • Onion diced – 1 small
  • Milk – ½ cup
  • Minced Garlic – 1 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Powder- ¼ tsp
  • Jeera Powder- ¼ tsp
  • Mint leaves – a few
  • Salt – to taste
Method:
  1. Boil peas in a pan and let them cool. Preserve the water used for boiling peas.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan, to it add minced garlic and chopped onion and sauté it on a slow flame till the onions are cooked
  3. Add peas with preserved water, jeera powder, black pepper powder, salt and mint leaves and sauté for few. Allow the mixture to cool.
  4. Blend this mixture in a blender and make a puree. Transfer the puree to the non-stick pan.
  5. Now, add milk and water as required and boil for a few minutes to adjust the consistency of a thick soup

Garnish it with mint leaf and enjoy your hot green pea soup.
