Garden Cress Seeds Kheer | Healthy Dessert | Nutritious Recipe

Garden Cress Seeds Kheer is a perfect dessert solution. Galactagogues are foods that are used to promote, sustain, or induce milk production. Gardencress Seeds also known as Halim or Aliv in different regional languages, portray potent galactagogue property as they contain flavonoids that helps to increase the production of breastmilk. They are rich in iron that helps to improve haemoglobin levels. Gardencress Seeds contain anti-oxidants, Vitamin A & C that helps to boost the immunity

Milk is rich in protein and calcium. It is essential for bone health and to the protein in it is required for the normal day-to-day functioning to create and repair cells. Milk also contains phosphorus, potassium, Vitamin B12, Riboflavin etc.

Ingredients:
  • Overnight Soaked Gardencress Seeds – 3 Tablespoon
  • Milk – 2 Cups
  • Jaggery Powdered – ¼ Cup
  • Elaichi powder – ¼ Teaspoon
  • Almonds – 2 to 3
  • Pistachios – 2 to 3
Method:
  1. Boil milk on a medium flame once it is boiled add the soaked seeds
  2. Stir the milk continuously and allow it to cook for approximately 8 – 10 mins.
  3. Once the milk turns thick add elaichi powder gradually and stirs it continuously
  4. Once its cooked add jaggery powder when the milk is warm and mix it properly.
  5. Adding jaggery while cooking can curdle the milk
  6. The kheer once cold becomes thicker so adjust the consistency accordingly while cooking
  7. Garnish it with dry fruits and it’s ready to serve
