Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, loaded with fibre, rich in antioxidant and also rich in various micronutrients. The fatty acid content of chia seeds aids in reducing inflammation and regulating inflammatory responses in the body as well as boosts the immune system. Chia seeds also help promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria.
Dates are naturally sweet and also high in fibre. This dessert of cinnamon chia dates pudding is high in fibre, protein and healthy without any extra added sugar.
Ingredients:
- Chia Seeds – 2 Tablespoons
- Milk – ¾th cup
- Fine Chopped Dates – 2 Tablespoons
- Vanilla – ¼ tsp
- Cinnamon powder – ¼ tsp
Method:
- Place all the ingredients except dates in a mixing bowl, and mix them well.
- Add the fine chopped dates into the chia seed mixture and combine well.
- Pour it in a jar or container and chill for about an hour, then return to the jar and shake it up.
- Let it chill for at least 4 hours or overnight is even better.
- Serve cold with cinnamon sprinkled on top.
NOTE: Can top it with chopped toasted walnuts or seeds.
