Apple Cinnamon Detox Water

Apple contains a plant chemical called flavonoids, that act as an antioxidant to protect our body. They contain a compound called pectin, a fiber that breaks down in your gut and helps to relieve diarrhea or constipation. Cinnamon is a spice high in cinnamaldehyde which is an active ingredient responsible for its health benefits. They have anti-inflammatory properties, improve insulin sensitivity, and have anti-diabetic effects to name a few. A combination of apple and cinnamon has been postulated to have overall health benefits.

 

Ingredients:
  • Apple – ½ cut in 8 to 10 thin slices (50 gms)
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick (1 inch)
  • Drinking Water – 1 litre

 

Method:
  1. Take a litre of water in a glass jar
  2. Add this apple slices & cinnamon stick to the water
  3. Let it rest in the water for 2 to 3 hours (you can refrigerate it)
  4. You can refill the jar of water 3 to 4 times before throwing away the apples.
