Almond or Badam Kheer is a protein-packed and calorie-dense recipe. Kheer is a all time favourite dessert, to make it more healthy we are introducing Almond Kheer which is not only nutritious but also delicious. It is also beneficial for lactating mothers.
Almonds contains nutrients which have strong galactagogue effect, they are rich in protein and essential fatty acids which helps to boost the production of breastmilk. It contains Vitamin E which is an antioxidant that helps to decrease oxidative stress. Almonds also contain magnesium it is helpful in improving insulin resistance. They contain calcium which helps in bone health. Apart from these almonds also contain phosphorus, iron, and potassium.
Milk on the other hand is good source of calcium and protein. Calcium is necessary for bone health, whereas protein helps the body repair cells and make new ones. Phosphorus, potassium, vitamin B12, and riboflavin are all found in milk all of which are again important for a lactating mother.
Ingredients:
- Soaked & Peeled Almonds – 20-30 in no
- Milk – 2 Cups Milk
- Sugar – 2 to 3 Tablespoon or as needed
- Elaichi Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Kesar – 1 Pinch (Optional)
- Pistachios Chopped – 4 to 5 Nos
- Raisin – 1 Teaspoon
Method:
- Blend the soaked & peeled almonds, elaichi, kesar, sugar, and milk as per requirement to a smooth paste
- Boil the milk on medium flame and when it comes to boil stir it continuously till it reduces and becomes a bit thick.
- Add the almond paste to the milk and mix it properly. Stir it and let it cook for a few minutes until it comes to a kheer consistency
- Garnish it with chopped nuts and the Badam Kheer is ready to serve
