Festive & holidays are round the corner and it’s that time of the year when you meet family & friends and indulge in some of your favourite delicacies. This obviously means loading extra calories, which will stay with you.
Listed are a few tips to indulge in festive eating while ensuring the weighing scale treats you well post festivities.
- Begin Your Day Right: Festive days are busy days and one tends to miss eating on time. Remember to eat a few dates/nuts & a glass of milk before you get busy. This won’t take long, but will help you feel full for a while.
- Balance the “Other” Meals: Not all meals are with family & friends. So be wise – keep the “other” meals light and healthy. Go for low oil options like oats & milk / idli-chutney / khakhra & fruit / sprout chat & buttermilk / eggs & salad for the “other” meals. Your body will thank you for this.
- Hydrate Well: Approximately every 20 kgs of body weight, requires 1 litre of water. So, if you weigh 70 kgs, remember to drink 3.5 litres water daily. Water helps you eat less by making you feel full. It also helps the body flush out toxins & helps have a clear bowel.
- Watch out for Fibre & Proteins: Remember, most delicacies are high in sugar & carbs. Adding more fibre in the form of salad or soup & protein in the form of buttermilk, sprouts, chicken, etc. will help you avoid over-eating.
- Be Wise: Please enjoy the delicacies offered to you. Never say “no”, but at the same time, be wise to choose a small portion & not repeat the serving. This will help you keep everyone happy, indulge & avoid cravings or binge eating.
