Garden cress seeds also known as Aliv or Halim Seeds are a superfood loaded with nutrients like Iron, and Vitamin K, which helps to improve immunity. It helps to decrease the inflammation in the body which helps in the prevention of diabetes and cholesterol. It also contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty acids thereby increasing heart health. They lower the blood sugar levels.
Oats have multiple health benefits, are easy-to-make and commonly consumed in our day to day lives. These are gluten-free, rich in soluble fibre (B- Glucan) which improves the heart health by fighting free radicals. It helps to lower the LDL Cholesterol (bad cholesterol). They reduce the blood glucose thereby increasing the insulin sensitivity and promoting growth of healthy bacteria.
Oat Bran, the outer layer of the grain may help relieve constipation. It is low in Glycemic index which keeps one satiated & fuller for a longer time.
Ingredients:
- Oats Flour – 1 Cup
- Garden Cress Seeds – ¼ Cup
- Sesame Seeds – ¼ Cup
- Almonds – ¼ Cup
- Walnuts – ¼ Cup
- Organic Jaggery – ½ Cup
- Dry Ginger Powder – 2 Teaspoon
- Ghee – ¼ Cup
- Elaichi Powder
- Khus – Khus Powder
Method:
- Take oats flour in a thick Iron kadhai. Dry roast it till it for a while.
- Dry roast sesame seeds and flaxseeds, garden cress seeds, almonds & walnuts separately and keep them aside.
- Let it cool down to room temperature.
- Grind all the seeds and nuts coarsely.
- Take oats flour, powdered seeds and nuts in a large pan.
- Add crushed organic jaggery and ginger powder, elaichi powder & khus khus powder. Mix well and add ghee.
- Take the mixture in a grinder and grind for 2 minutes.
- It will become sticky and warm.
- Take the sticky mixture in hand and give the shape of laddoo.
NOTE: The Same method can be used for different kinds of Flours except Ragi
