Nutritious Laddoo | Healthy Dessert | Sugar Free

Festivals are incomplete without indulging on the traditional Indian sweets and laddoos are one much needed sweet items in the festive food list. This recipe of nutritious laddoo is not only healthy and full of nutrients but also delicious to taste.

Multigrain flour provides a blend of nutrients in each grain. Ragi is rich in calcium, jowar is loaded with minerals and fibre, bajra is packed with iron and fibre, and wheat is good source of several vitamins and minerals. Jaggery is loaded with antioxidants and minerals such as zinc and selenium.

Try this recipe of nutritious laddoos this festive season.

 

Ingredients:

  • Multigrain Flour (Equal portion Nachni, Jowar, Bajra & Wheat Mixture) – 1 Cup
  • Sesame Seeds – 1 Tablespoon
  • Organic Jaggery – ¼ Cup
  • Ghee – 2 Teaspoons
  • Chopped Almonds – 5-6 nos.
  • Cardamom Powder – ½ Teaspoon

 

Method:

  1. Heat 1½ teaspoon of ghee in a pan and roast the multigrain flour on a medium flame till golden brown.
  2. Melt jaggery with ¼ cup of water and mix till it melts.
  3. Add cardamom powder & boil till the syrup starts thickening and turn off the flame.
  4. Mix the flour in the jaggery syrup.
  5. Mix properly, make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
  6. Add chopped almonds and mix well.
  7. Grease your hands with a little ghee and make small balls (laddoos) while the mixture is warm.
  8. Let the laddoos cool down and store it in air tight container.
